Until you have to untangle the blasted things every morning because you're kind of a SHOVE-r IN-er, and the thin top dresser drawer you use just isn't meant to hold that kind of cargo.
So.
You pull out a piece of that old, scrap wood from your garage hoard, and nail it to the wall. Then you stagger tiny nails every few inches, and load it up.
This probably wouldn't work so well if you had fancy jewelry, or preferred delicate chains instead of sassy baubles, but since there is absolutely zero chance of that ever happening, it looks like I've finally found "a system."
(The two R's = Roger and Rebecca, not "Rest and Relaxation", although who doesn't want that...) |
How do you organize your necklaces?
I love rustic wood. I store mine on a peg board with hooks. I want to find a cuter way but this works for now :)

What are you talking about? Peg board sounds totally cute!
DeleteSimple, effective, looks cool and FREE! What's not to love?
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look as cool as you do ;)
DeleteBaha!
DeleteVery Anthropology...I like it! How's your new job going?!!
ReplyDeleteIt took some getting used to (much s l o w e r pace, no where to dance - ha!), but I'm loving it. It's so nice to not come home completely exhausted. I do miss my friends and customers, but ultimately it was a great move.
DeleteFabulous idea, and I love your necklace collection too!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I need to purge some that haven't been worn in awhile, but it'll be easier not to default to the same two over and over now that you can actually SEE what's there.
DeleteYou have been missed! Hope the new job is going well.
ReplyDeleteI can't even remember the last time I was "current" with posting...last year? The year before?? I'm trying to be better. I only blog when the mood strikes because hate it to be forced, and as I walked by this wall yesterday, the sun was hitting it just so and thought "I could snap a photo and do a post in 5 minutes." So I did.
DeleteAnd yes - the job is great!! No walls to decorate, but 90% of me loves that!
Ticks all my boxes, may have to try it :o)
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your new job
You must love "F words" as much as I do: fast, free, functional.
Delete;)
So I do something really similar with my earrings although it's not nearly as cute as your idea. You can check it out via the link below.

Thanks for sharing!

That is AWESOME!! Also, your earrings are way prettier than mine.
DeleteLove it! I'm actually making a fun necklace holder myself- they are just as much art and decoration as they are wearable! You have some pretty ones! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so right! I was a wee bit worried that I might just hate it because it would look messy, but it's kinda like organized chaos...which I love. Functional art for sure!
DeleteWait, which side is Roger's?
ReplyDeleteThe side that pays for it.
Delete{plus, those chunky pearls are usually for after hours...wink wink}
Love it! Mine are in a big clump in a drawer. One of these days I have to start organizing!
ReplyDeleteI'm not one to judge - mine had been in a clump for 18 years! It wasn't until they came out everyday that it bothered me. And now when I get rid of some, I'll need more to take their place, right??
Deletegreat idea, and looks like lovely art! as for RR I thought rest and relaxation and thought look how clever she is!
ReplyDeleteMaybe if I put it on the wall it will come true? :)
DeleteLove your idea, wouldn't work for me though. I'm more of a thinner chain with a pendant or whatever. Don't have much chunky jewelry myself. I have a drawer that I have my chains etc. laid out, the ones I wear most often tend to be laying in little "pools" on the top of my dresser though or in a small jewelry box.
ReplyDeleteI love your necklaces! And that's such a cute idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat is this 'organize' word you use? I don't even wear necklaces because I can't get them unknotted. I strung my wedding band because pregnancy happened & whatnot & now i'll really never wear it again. It's tangled up with about 10 other necklaces :(
ReplyDelete"Never say never."

Great Idea. My daughter bought a belt holder and put it on the wall. I really like the rustic look that you have.
ReplyDeleteA belt holder? What a great idea!!
DeleteThis is just fabulous!!! Love it! How fun to pick out your jewelry every morning!
