Giving Thanks (and getting silly)

Since all the ideas we've got for Christmas are gonna kick my trash this year,
Thanksgiving got kept low key and simple.

All the pumpkins from Halloween stuck around,

along with a few flat (okay, AA cup) gourds that got perched around Mr. Turkey Lurkey.

And then.

Then.

When I was talking to our marketing lady and mentioned my Pilgrim & Indian plans for our wall, she suggested that the Native American stereotype persona MAY be considered offensive to some. Perhaps I could just stick to the Pilgrim side and get "creative with the other parts."

Challenge accepted.

There we are, floating away in style, after visiting...

the Ice King, Carlos {proudly waving his Peruvian flag} and his
{possibly knocked up - we'll let you decide} lovely bride and her 5 o'clock shadow.

An angel with foil wings leads the way,

and it's just more general foolishness from there.

Nothing says "Let's Eat Some Turkey" more than the Death Star.

Nothing, except perhaps a mermaid.

And to think that this all could have been avoided if we could've done the Pilgrim/Indian thing,
just like every other kindergarten class around the country.

Hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving.

  1. Oh look at what fun colors you got to play with when the marketing lady untethered the decor from the boring traditional Thanksgiving theme we all are familiar with ;) Happy Thanksgiving, belated super birthday wishes, and hoping that you're able to do your own thing for the next holiday decorating activity!

  3. Love the decorations! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I will, I'm having a bunch of people here and then on Friday I'm having a Black Friday Crop. It will be a lot of fun!

  4. ah, I see Adventure Time characters in there. The jury is still out as to whether I approve of this cartoon but I've been letting my children watch it and it is somewhat like a train wreck...I can't look away! Ha!

Anyway, cute stuff. Can't wait to see what is in store for Christmas. Wait...is "Christmas" offensive? Maybe I should say "The Holidays"?

Thanks for the laughs. It all looks great, as always! The AA cup comment made me laugh out loud!
