Halloween Decorating @ the Office

October is here, which means it's time for some extra fun at work.
If splattering your dining room table with orange paint while making
a dozen paper bag pumpkins is your idea of fun.

(the answer: yes)

Big tables are also good for cutting out a bajillion spooky shapes, and since 99% of our decor
is made from construction paper, I need somewhere to spread my crap out.
Messy? Perhaps.
But also proof that you don't need more than $5 to set the mood.

Our horsie photo got covered up with some wrapping paper and a paper jack-o-lantern to make it more festive and -who are we kidding - LESS disturbing.

It wouldn't be a proper holiday without our manager as....something.

This time he's Count Carlos.

That sparkles in the sun because a proper vampire must have bling.

He's surrounded by a cast of characters with a little help from Google Images.

Since the crew always gets to have all the fun, I thought it would be nice if we included our
district manager as well...using a photo of him...that he doesn't know we have.

Some may call it mean, I call it thoughtful.

An old plastic sign that was doomed for the dumpster was turned around and painted with acrylics, then surrounded by sliced up garbage bags so it could remember the fate it was spared.

they get attached to some toothpicks and poked into bread. I love a happy accident.

  2. Oh my goodness!!! I love when you show your decorations! They are wonderful, every work place should have some fun like this. I really love the "witch" supervisor, for that matter I love when you put people into the decorations. Great job. TFS!

  3. Clever and resourceful as always ... and having the talent to pull it off too! Great ideas and presenting the photos in b&w gives it a good ghoul look. Are you pictured as the Queen of Harts?

  4. Do you think that by "UnFriending" some Hawaiian Monsters like you did, I could wear one of those T-Shirts, or do you have to be manly?

  6. Wow, the restuarant looks awesome. I wish I lived closer and I'd visit it just to see the cute decorations. After all this did you still have energy to decorate your house for Halloween?

  9. It looks great...but boy do you need a cutter and make-the-cut! LOL. That's way to much work to be cutting out by hand! Looks GREAT!!!!

  14. Found your blog via Pinterest, flipping through the gift wrap idea photos, not intending on reading anything, but certain trigger words always seem to catch people.
For me it was Phoenix, Dallas, Autism. Then i actually read some. We've had similar adventures. Move from La. to Phx(Peoria actually), now in DFW area, and understanding Autism on a personal level. My son was just 'transferred' to a different school 1 wk ago because they didn't have a 'fitting program' here for him. taterandmrtater@aol.com

  15. Oh. My. Goodness.
I want to frame this whole post as a shining example of how to get a place look amazing with littl or no cash at all- I think I dislocated my jaw about three times when it hit my chest.
There's not one bit I don't like, and some stuff, like the district manager, are downright killing me. Is thee a psychological condition called workplace envy? I haz it.

  20. Queen of rockin it at the workplace! Do customers comment on how cute your store is? Remind me which one you work at, if I am in your area one day I'm gonna run in and hug your neck!

  21. The horse photo made me have a blast from the past! My parents had the same one, it's an antique.
