I am and always have been smitten with silhouettes. Deep smit. They're the perfect blend of classic vintage and graphic modern, which is a combination that makes my heart oh so happy.
Nothing that can't be fixed.
I modified my 5 minute version and printed out this picture on google images,
put it over a piece of black paper and cut. I chose Darth Vader because 1. Princess Leia is a girl and 2. the other guys looked too detailed and I know my limitations.
Then I found Yoda and fell in love, so I made that too. Especially since inside the package IS A LIGHT SABER. Foreshadowing at it's finest.
A bit more black paper cut out with words printed in this font and voila. The most un-girly gifts in the history of the world galaxy.

Very creative! I've never really used sillouhettes (not even sure I can spell it) but you've come up with lots of great stuff. Love the Star Wars one!
Rebecca! I bet your kids get invited to all the parties partly cause the moms want to see what you'll do next. This is beyond cool and I will never ever do it.
oh my gosh. that's brilliant.
I must do this for my little jedi's.
Must!
♥ it! I'm a total sci-fi geek...and hubby's next pressie will see this wrapping! LOL
Can't wait to see what you come up with tomorrow....you are amazing!
i always love a good kraft paper wrapping - especially for masculine gifts, but am never satisfied with it's plainness. darth vader was a stroke of genius! but, please tell me you used a cricut to cut out all those letters!
Definitely going to wrap my husbands gifts like this!!! Genius idea with the font, too!!!
That is hilarious! I wish I had seen this earlier last week when I had to wrap my boss' birthday present, he is a total Star Wars nut. Next year!
Yep...methinks I'll be using this idea for the reception. Groom is a major Star Wars geek, er fan, and I've been brainstorming for ideas to sneak in some kind of SW touch. A bit more subtle than say, Darth Vader kidnapping the bride, or me wearing my cinnamon bun earmuffs. *shrug*
I just found your site. You are my new hero. srsly. wow.
