31 Ways To Wrap Your Crap

We're going to party, karamu, fiesta, forever....wanna come along?

Please keep in mind

Full disclaimer and waiver of all liability:

#1 I am no expert, nor do I play one on my blog. I adore a thoughtfully wrapped gift, but I am not a snob. Plenty of last minute back-of-the-hall-closet-behind-the-vacuum-cleaner-wrinkled-bags-with-one-handle-missing-and-crumpled-tissue-paper-found-on-the-floor presents have left this house and

I do not and never will think that this is wrong or in any way inferior.

But. Sometimes you want to do a lil' something extra. Maybe the gift itself isn't so fabulous and you've gotta compensate with a great presentation. Or maybe you're like me and enjoy playing with packages just because it's fun.

Ahem.

#2 Kicking it up a notch does not mean spending lots of time, money or having loads of fancy schmancy wrapping paper. None of that hurts, but it's certainly not necessary.

So. All month long we're gonna talk about

*using what you already have

*the little things that can make a big difference and

*simple ideas that you can use as inspiration. Because sometimes you just need the concept and then you can change it up using the stuff that you've got and create your own magic. I'm pretty sure that's in a Disney movie somewhere.

Are you ready? Let's do this.

  10. Hi! I just wanted to tell you that I have used 2 of your ideas in the past month. One was using B&W photos instead of gift tags on Christmas gifts. That worked so great. My youngest nephew could play Santa elf, and he is too young to read. He just looked at the pictures. And everyone LOVED them. They loved seeing the photos I chose, and showing them to each other.

This weekend I tried another idea and instead of going out to buy special wrapping paper for a toddler birthday gift, I just wrapped a DVD in plain white paper, then cut some baby paper from my scrapbooking stash to decorate the top of the package. I also decorated the card envelope with some scrapbooking stuff I've had for years and will never use on a page, and tied it all with real ribbon I had on hand that was 44 cents a roll at WM. It was so fun and was 20 minutes of playing with paper and being creative in a little way.

    Thank you!

  11. I love it. I use those plasic file organiser buckets and use the hanging files to organise my tissue paper and gift bags so they don't get so cruppled I can stack the buckets and the lid keeps curious hands out (children). I don't scrapebook but always loved the paper. Thanks I will have to add it to my collection of crafts now. Thank you for the ideas

  12. I also use the backs of cards and gift tags if no one wrote on me for the next time I need gift tags, so out of 1 gift tag or card you get two everytime.
