Taking A Wee Break From Tradition

"I don't know where I'm going from here, but I can promise you it won't be boring."

-David Bowie

Christmas Post #2: The Tree

The tried and true star topper stayed in the box this year as we were unearthing all the decorations, but somehow this guy from way back here made the cut.

Why? Why not? It hardly seems fair that the kids get to be the only ones that have fun around here.

Of course, he needed a little sprucin' up. A coat of brown and black paint transformed him from dollar spot to tres elegante. Elegant enough for our family, that is. Which isn't saying much. Nestled in bling, with a few funky feathers. He is a bird after all. And yes, Jennifer, my favorite guy is back. I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Our Christmas tree just isn't done,

until the Christmas monkey's hung.

  3. I gotta be honest. There is just one thing I don't like about your house and it's been bugging me for a while now -- everytime I check in here I think about it ... it's that your house not right next to mine.

  15. For the record I think the break might be a bit more than wee. I love everything about your tree. It would be great to see you someday start to build a career around your creative talents. Do you ever think about that? Do they have a Festival of Trees type of thing in DFW (which always reads divorced female white to me out of the corner of my eye)?
