Letting Go

When the two youngest boys asked if they could create a winter wonderland using the finest of materials, meaning paper from the computer printer, I told them to knock themselves out.
That "T" must be silent.
A lovely handmade holiday scene - a wonderful, festive addition to their room. Upstairs. "But Mom, if it's up there, when people come over they won't be able to see it and say 'how pretty'." Drats. They're so on to me.

  4. Cute! Sometimes we've just got to let those non-design elements take over.

In response to your much-appreciated comment on my recent post, have you considered doing consults? You don't need the same 'formal' background and there's a good niche' market in that arena. Home staging, re-design etc. Basically, you go in and tell them how they can improve what they have themselves. Most 'professionals' are too fancy to be willing to work with generic, do-it-yourself oriented homeowners. There's a niche' I tell you!

  8. Hi I'm new to your blog and I have to tell you what a visonary you are. You have done such a master make over with your home that you should be a decorater. I love your blog and you have inspired a 54 year old to do more with her home. Thanks, Pearl
