Hung Out To Dry

I love it when one thing helps out two causes.

CAUSE #1 Clean out my garage.

It's got random wood everywhere left over from ripping out all that paneling in the dining room.

CAUSE #2 Get Brendan's animals off the floor. Things on the floor = things that dogs carry around in their mouths, which then = things that end up in the back yard, amidst piles of poo or fire ants. Two things me no likey.

So I took this and added this and got this. Nothin' fancy, just cut to the same length and nailed to the wall. Next step is some liquid nail-ed up (is that a noun or a verb? I'm going with verb) clothespins, and a slather of paint for everybody.

And now the possibilities are endless.

Clean (who are we kidding) socks,

keeping your marshmallows fresh, or, oh yeah, the original purpose: a good old fashioned hangin'. No dogs allowed.

  1. That is great! Our golden retriever is a total stuffed animal thief...and yep, they end up in the backyard as slobbery, grosso messes!

  3. Brilliant!
I need two. One for the kids and one for my husband, all who I am trying to teach that the backyard is not an open dumpster. Even though it looks that way.

  6. Hmm. I wonder if my darling daughter would accept that clothespin treatment as an acceptable alternative to having every object in the house that resembles an animal in any way, shape or form, in her bed when she goes to sleep. Not likely, but I'd be willing to try!

  9. Hey Rebecca! I don't know if you remember me, we met once.... I'm Kathryn's sister. I admired your cleverness at a shower long ago, then Kathryn gave me the heads up on your blog. I've been enjoying it for a little while, its time I admit it. But seriously, I just need to say that your decorating geniusness is to the ridiculous point. No one human should have that much creativity, skill, motivation and humor to top it off. Really, you have a gift. Thanks for letting the rest of the world drool over your projects and peek in on your beautiful home.
p.s. In my dreams you are my neighbor and help me with my house everyday. He he he.
