Keep Your Eyes Open

Creativity isn't always about coming up with something new.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard people say, "I can never come up with any ideas." But guess what? The song is right. It HAS "all been done."

So start paying attention to what you like. Details. Features. Things that make you smile.

Sometimes it's a whole room. Sometimes it's just a piece. That's right. Even when something isn't exactly your "style", there could be one thing you fall in love with.
(In this one it's the horizontal planks on the island. YUM.)

I've started to put all of mine in this online album so I don't have to rummage through messy drawers, shoe boxes or sticky binders to find that one thing I remember from way back. Remember....that thing that had the thing that was kind of cool....? Where did that go? If you find something in a magazine, rather than tearing out the page, just take a photo and transfer it to your computer - no scissors required.

Inspiration for me isn't always decor, sometimes it's just ideas.

Or colors schemes.

Or tasteful birthday cards from my sister.

( "One to cook and one to clean." It's true, ya know....that would be the best....)

My latest project was inspired by a photo and a children's movie.

Who woulda thunk it?

    1. The bear party favors were made by Jennifer Hayslip from Sweet Eye Candy Creations @ www.sweeteyecandy.typepad.com. :) She does custom orders so she might be able to make them if others are interested. :)

Above is the link for the source for the bear party favors. (I believe in giving credit where credit is due and sadly now days "Pinterest" gets credit for things instead of the person who actually created them. The favors were made by Jennifer Hayslip from Sweet Eye Candy Creations. She does custom orders so you might be able to still have some made by her. :)
