Battle Of Wills

In "Me vs. Mr. Mouse"?

We have a tie.

We have yet to locate him, but we also haven't found any more...deposits, shall we say.....so it would appear that he may have indeed hailed a cab and gone on his merry way.

At least that's what I'm hoping.

But in "Me vs. Piece Of Crap Oil Based Paint", a winner has been declared.

(My mama always said I was a winner).

The paneling has been painted out, and the towel bars taken down requiring nothing more than a few firm tugs.Gave the kids a spot to dry off their hands. Besides their shirts. Or the couch.Changed out the broken faucet and gave the vanity some left over paint.

I didn't tackle the akward end of paneling/beginning of tile transition, but since it's the kids bathroom upstairs that I don't have to go into, I'd say it's fine the way it is.

So instead of them waking up to this, they can de-stinkify in cheerier conditions.
Who knows? Maybe the happiness will rub off and they'll be in a better mood by the time they make it downstairs in the morning.

Let me dream, okay?

  2. I want to know how you manage to get things done soooo dang fast with all those kids! Must be all the practice. Because my bathroom that I thought I would just "spruce up a little" is still at about the half way point...and I started in January! Looks amazing, as always.

  3. Very cute! I love the shower curtain, although the old one was also cute. I can't believe you trust your children with a plant. YaYa would be watering that thing forty-seven times a day.

  4. the bowling alley art piece is my favorite! and that you repeated the circle theme in the curtain makes it even better. the hooks on the wall make me so happy - they're pretty AND functional. i want to know if your kids hang their towels back up after they're done showering - or do you just do that every morning? the TP basket is my next favorite. we may have to borrow that idea in all of our bathrooms - 2 are missing their tp roll holders and the kids never replace the empty roll when they're done anyway.

so thank you for all your insightful tips on how to bring the blue into my living room. the blue on the bookshelves is genius. and no, jeremy would never let me paint the actual wood so your super thin paneling idea is perfect!

  7. I love the hooks instead of towel racks. I think I could more easily get my kids to put a wet towel on a hook than folded over a bar. Thanks for the idea! Love the whole bathroom.

  9. I love the idea that everyone gets their own hook to hang their towel on instead of a way too small towel rack. Or just too many kids to hang all their towels on the same rack. Looks awesome! Seriously, when we finally build our house----will you come help me decorate? I'm not joking either.

  10. Love it. I'm a little jealous that all you have to do is paint (ha ha although I'm good with having flat paint and not oil based).

  12. I really preferred the "before". I don't understand why you just don't leave well enough alone. Sheesh.

(Just kidding, I thought I play the role of the heckler -- you have too many nice fans and I thought I mix it up a little.) Love ya chick!

  13. That looks awesome!! And thanks for the old shower curtain. Courtney thinks it's beautiful and I love the punch of color in my gross, 60's bathroom. Have you been in it? Then you KNOW that whole thing needs to be remodeled...no paint will salvage it.

And thanks for the clothes! Roger wasn't sure if they were for me. So if they weren't for me, too bad, I'm keeping them. :D
