What Are The Odds?

My baking attempts are a lot like Vegas:

Scantily clad women Chances are, you ain't gonna win.

But once in a while you get lucky.

Last night, we scored with this banana "bar" recipe from here.

Lighter than banana bread (especially when it's my bread that is crunchy on the outside and still gooey in the middle) and not quite like cake.

But enough like cake that me likey.

And I wasn't the only one.

I knew I was onto a winner when I went to frost my creation and it looked like this...

There must be mice in the kitchen. Luckily those mice also liked leftover cream cheese frosting, since it made enough for a full pan, which we obviously didn't have. And five a few of these pieces of heaven are perfect first thing in the morning as well.

Cream cheese + Bananas = Breakfast Of Champions.


  1. I love these things. And I consider them healthy because of the banana part. But, I also consider ketchup a vegetable. Whatever gets me through the day, right?

  3. Yum! Looks fabulous. My "kitchen mice" have been eating sugar cookies all morning....guess the neighbors probably wouldn't have liked them anyway.

  5. nummy! i am gonna have to try that. although, MY banana bread always comes out DELISH. could it be the walnuts and chocolate chips i throw in. everything's better with chocolate right? hmmm...i am gonna have to do cream cheese FROSTING instead of just cream cheese now!

    My banana bread always comes out a little gooey in the middle right on top no matter what I do. So I guess it's a good thing I like it that way.
