It's My Party & I'll Fry If I Want To...

Saw this idea here, and thought it must be too good to be true.
After all, how many recipes have I gotten off the web that were complete flops?
Rhetorical question.
But this one works.
And it's delicious.
And cheap.
And man, it makes me feel like a woman good mom with half-way decent domestic ability.
I know, the photos suck. Once again, I wasn't really too optimistic.
The photos were an afterthought and taken after the "kids" (wink wink) downed the first batch.
Note that you can also use napkins to put the finished donuts on if you are out of paper towels. Or if you have paper towels, but they're in the garage and everybody in the house is too lazy to go out there and bring them in. Whatever.
Oh baby - I've died and gone to carb heaven. Dipped them in cinnamon and sugar which made them taste like a warm, fluffy churro. MMMM. The kids were furious that I hadn't made more. I was a bit disappointed too. So this morning I picked up a 4 pack of biscuits. You know - so I can have them on hand for whenever the mood strikes. Like every afternoon.

  1. Okay you are so a girl after my own heart! I remember making donuts in 7th grade Home Ec. My "kids" will have to try them.

  2. Oh my heck! Those look SOOO good. I should not have looked. Now I want one. Or two. Or maybe three but only if no one is looking.

Stop by my blog anytime. You should get a follower button on yours so I can follow it. I love all your home decor ideas.

  3. I saw these too. Maybe I'll have to try them now. Great. I found the cutest itty bitty Santa boots today and got them!! Thought of you!

  4. Oh, they look soooo good! I want one now! I'm so glad they worked out for you~and thanks for the link!

  5. Seriously, Mom made these for us when we were kids (with biscuits)!! She used to use the top plastic piece that came on the syrup bottles to make perfect holes, and don't even think about throwing those away, you can fry them up too! Since I'm off my diet, I think I want some this week...
