Pick Of The Week

It's common knowledge that when it comes to movies, the Wisor family is way behind. Case in point: we just went to see Prince Caspian to celebrate our anniversary. And to celebrate my completion of the entire 7 Chronicles Of Narnia books which I highly recommend. Thoroughly delightful, and even though they are indeed children's books, they're full of symbolism and metaphors which sparked some serious reflection on my part. Did you know that the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is actually the 2nd book in the series? The Magician's Nephew goes all into how Narnia was created and who was there....but I digress.

When we saw that this movie had come out on video, we had to get it. Is it fabulous? No. Does it drag on a bit? Oh yeah. But the premise of the movie has so much potential, and hey, Jack Black...we couldn't resist. Funny parts mixed with a lot of mediocrity. Alright, that could be the description of thousands of movies. But overall, better than watching football (sorry Roger).

  1. oh that's too bad, but we'll probably still watch it too. The clips are SO funny!

And got my copy of Narnia... give me a little time to read it.

  2. I read the first two books in the Chronicals of Narnia to my kids over the summer, then we watched the movie. My kids LOVED IT!

That Jack Black movie does look funny. the only remake I am familiar with is the Ghost Busters. Who's behind on movies now? I am sure Paul would get ALL the jokes.

  3. okay girls you have got to be kidding me. you didn't read the chronicles of narnia as kids? okay i will make you feel bad and tell you that my first grader has even read the 1st two in the series. the original first two, l,w and wardrobe and pc.

those were my all time favs as a kid. i reread them before seeing the movies with sarah. she loves them.

please tell me you've read harry potter.
