Irresistible

The older I get, the more I come to realize that sometimes there are things that must only strike me as funny. We were out first thing in the morning, and I was compelled to stop (long enough that people began to honk) and capture this Norman Rockwell scene. Just a random guy, chillin' on his driveway in front of his converted garage overlooking 6 lanes of traffic, reading his paper in his plastic lawn chair. Is that a big speaker holding up the air conditioner? Maybe the music helps drown out the sound of the big trucks plowing down the road. I couldn't help but smile, but the kids were not so amused. "Can we GO already! And what the heck are you taking a picture of that guy for anyways, Mom?" Must they steal all my joy in life?

  2. I love it! Reminds me of the Bakersfield Days and I would drive through Oildale to teach school. Classic white trash.

  4. I swear this is going to be me when I get old. Then I won't have to care what people think and I can walk around in my underwear (NOT!!) I seriously saw a guy on Lehi main street wearing his underwear top just the other day, I so wish I would have taken a picture....if there was anywhere to stop on the stupid road!! Thanks for the entertainment, as always!!
